Information On Our Refurbished OE Wheels & Rims

With experience in the automotive industry since 1979, our founders accumulated a large inventory of factory original wheels. In 2010 OriginalWheels.com officially opened its doors, and has been a leading supplier of OEM wheels ever since. Being family owned and operated, OriginalWheels.com understands the value of customer service. We buy, sell, and recondition wheels for wholesale and retail customers alike. So whether you are calling from a tire store, body shop, or needing an original factory rim for you own personal car or truck, your wheel needs are our top priority.

OriginalWheels.com prides itself in providing the highest quality OEM rims. All our wheels are used original equipment manufacturer (OEM) rims that have gone through a multi-point inspection to confirm authenticity and structural integrity. Only wheels that pass our inspection are reconditioned using the same methods as the factory. We use OE paint chips to guarantee an exact color match. We also ship all rims insured, so you are guaranteed by both Original Wheels and FedEx or UPS to receive a perfect wheel.

Original equipment wheels are made out of either aluminum alloy or steel. Typically, aluminum wheels come on higher trim level vehicles, and steel wheels are a more economical option. OEM rims also come in a variety of finishes such as painted silver, charcoal, hyper silver, powder coated black, CNC machined, polished, PVD, and chrome. So whether you are looking to upgrade your late model alloy wheels, or are in need of an obsolete steel wheel, we have a replacement OEM wheel for you.

Our goal is to offer value without sacrificing quality. Our stock rims are generally around half the dealer list price and will look as good as new. Factory rim prices always fluctuate depending on supply and demand, but we always strive to offer the best quality original alloy wheels at the most competitive price possible. If you see a wheel advertised for less we will try to match or beat that price.

Always expect a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. If for any reason you are not happy with the original equipment wheel you receive, just contact us within 30 days and we will help schedule a return or exchange. Our Limited Lifetime Warranty covers all wheel finishes except chrome. Chrome plated aluminum alloy wheels come with a one year warranty.

Most of our wheels are purchased as used factory take offs. “Factory" meaning genuine factory original part, and "take off" meaning they have been taken off of a vehicle. We buy our factory take off wheels from dealerships, tire stores, and individuals who usually traded their stock wheels for aftermarket rims. So if you have one or two used wheels for sale, or a whole truck load of used rims for sale, please contact us and we will give you a quote. Please keep in mind we never purchase wheels that have ever been structurally damaged, such as bent or cracked.

FAQ

What does OEM mean on wheels? O.E.M. stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer.

What are factory rims called? Factory rims are often called Original Equipment Manufacturer, OEM, OE, Factory Original, or Stock, all of which describe the same thing.

Are OEM wheels worth it? OEM wheels are usually more expensive than cheaper aftermarket or replica wheels, but what you get is a genuine factory original wheel that is made specifically for your vehicle, and should last longer than the life of your car or truck if properly cared for.

What size are my OEM rims? You can find the diameter of your wheel by checking the last two numbers of the tire size shown on the sidewall of your tire. Example: 245/60/18 is an 18” rim. More dimensions are typically stamped on the back of your wheel such as width and offset, however the wheel would have to be removed from the vehicle to read these dimensions.

Are factory rims better than aftermarket? OEM wheels are manufactured to a higher quality standard than most aftermarket rims. One major benefit to OEM rims is that they are hub-centric, which means the center bore of the wheel is engineered to fit the size of your hub perfectly. Aftermarket wheels are made to be lug-centric in order to fit universally on many different vehicles.

How do you know if rims are original? Most original rims can be authenticated by the manufacturer stamping on the wheel such as factory part numbers.

What is the difference between a wheel and a rim? Many people call wheels rims, but they are actually referring to the same thing. A rim is technically the outside part of a wheel.

How do you know if a wheel is true? Since OEM wheels are hub-centric, we measure the runout of every wheel on a balancer using a dial indicator. Any wheels with a bend or crack are recycled at our local scrap yard.

Do you offer wholesale discounts? Yes, please let us know if you are calling from an automotive repair company such as a tire shop or auto collision center so we can apply your wholesale discount.
