The Ford Explorer & the Ford Explorer wheels have been the “family” SUV for as long as I can remember. It had always seemed like the kind of car that you can go in to take a small road trip to San Diego or even San Francisco.
It’s been manufactured in Louisville, Kentucky ever since it came out; it was even assembled in Missouri until their plant closed in 2006. The Ford Explorer & the OE Ford Explorer Rims have been marketed as Ford’s mid-size SUV. It comes between the Expedition & the Escape. A couple years ago, Firestone Tire Company had an issue with their 2004 Ford Explorer Wheels and their other wheels because they were “fitted wrong”.
All of their sales from 1999-2007 have been in the 100,000s until 2008 & 2009. I don’t know if the Ford wheels were looking a little dingy, or if people just didn’t feel like buying the mid-sized SUV anymore.
What do you think?
