The Escalade and the Cadillac rims on it are made by GM; but you know this already, right? Of course you do; what kind of question is that?
It was Cadillac’s first real major model to enter the SUV market. It was first introduced in 1999 as the 1999 model year in response to German and Japanese competitors. It even came out because it wanted to be in competition with Ford’s 1998 release of the Lincoln Navigator. If you were to ask me, the Cadillac Escalade rims beat the Ford ones any day… but that’s just me.
“Project Escalade” went under construction about 10 months after it was approved! I guess they were pretty eager to start this project. The Escalade models are built in Arlington, Texas.
Here’s a fun fact (I know you love those): the name Escalade actually refers to a siege warfare tactic of scaling defensive walls or ramparts with the aid of ladders or siege towers… if you understand what that means.
Who knew… besides me,
Mykalanne.
