The Jeep Compass was introduced for the 2007 model year and is categorized as a compact crossover SUV. For the 2007-2010 model years, the Compass didn’t have the “Trail Rated” badge that was found on the other Jeep models – but in 2011, it received that badge! This badge basically means that the Compass is made to target first-time Jeep buyers and even those drivers that drive primarily on paved roads with their 2009 Jeep Compass wheels.
The other Jeep trucks, the “traditional” ones, are known for off-road prowess, and some trace their origins to vehicles once used in ground operations by American troops.
