What are Factory Original Wheel Simulators exactly?

March 4th, 2010

So by now, I’m guessing you know the difference between OEM alloy wheels & original steel rims. If not, there’s some blogs below that may clarify those thoughts of yours.

Anyway, what are wheel simulators you may be pondering? They’re usually seen on cars like the Chevy Truck 3500 wheels or the Dodge Truck 3500 rims . Dodge & Ford wheel simulators are the only wheels that are offered and manufactured by the original producer. Can you tell the difference? They resemble the pattern of the Factory Steel Wheel, but kind of have their own little twist on them, I guess you could say:

  • They range from 16” all the way to 22.5”.
  • Available in ABS chrome or stainless steel.
  • You can either bolt them on or pop them on.
  •

Even though this seems all fine & dandy, in order to purchase this Factory Original Wheel, you need to know everything. When I say everything, I mean everything. “Well what’s everything?” is something you’re probably contemplating right about… now. Everything includes:

  • Your tire size.
  • The number of hand holes.
  • The number of Lug Nuts.
  • If you have Single Rears or Dual Rears.
  • Now, by reading this blog, you know a little something more about wheels. You learn something new every day (: Oh! If you ever happen to order OEM dual rear wheels, there’s an inflation kit available, but sold separately.
