If you have OEM Hyundai wheels on your car, then you most likely have steel-belted tires as well. These tires have a type of steel wire mesh in between the tread and the body ply of a tire; your OE Hyundai rims don’t have any steel in them… unless they’re factory steel wheels!
Steel-belted tires will usually have a lot of advantages over tires without technology; the main one being durability. The steel belts are there to allow the tire more miles – this obviously brings more life in the end… which also means more money in your pocket. The other cool thing is that steel-belted tires are somewhat harder to damage compared to the regular tires.
Cool, huh?
