The 2500 van by GMC (which is essentially identical to Chevy's 2500 Van, the Express) has run from 1978 and continues production today. The 2500 is an identifying number that indicates a towing capacity of 7800 lb.s and a payload of 2708 as opposed to the 1500 and 3500 vans that were able to tow 6200 and 7700 (respectively) and sustain a payload of 1707 and 3591 (respectively).
