The Mazda MX-3 began production in 1992 as a three door hatchback. The MX-3, which stood for "Motoring Xperiment" and three designating relative platform size- in this specific case a sport compact. The front wheel drive car was powered by either a straight four cylinder engine or a small (1.8L displacement) V6 and had either a 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic transmission. The MX-3 was discontinued in 1998 but has amassed a bit of a following due to its perfect shell to transplant larger engines for a more roadstery feel. Although there has been some talk of renewing the name, but nothing has come to fruition yet.
There was only one 15" alloy rim that was the largest option and had silver finish and 5 spokes. There was also a 14" alloy rim with 6 spokes and a 14" steel wheel with 8 holes and painted finish.
